Fever
Apparently the body creates a fever in order to kill bacteria and viruses that invade the body.
That being the case, we try to help the body to maintain the fever, but to do so at a comfortable level, not at a level that endangers our health.
We treat fevers with a cold sheet treatment. The following has a reasonably good description of how to do one. http://www.westernbotanicals.com/en/adv10.html
What we do is much more simple but still it was effective for us.
We make sure the sick person has drunk a lot of pure water, then we help them to take a hot bath to which a cup of Epsom salts has been added. If a person has had their genetic variants tested and it shows that they have difficulties dealing with sulphur/sulphates, then we would use magnesium chloride. We encourage them to continue drinking water while in the bath or hot lemon drinks. The sick person would soak for at least 20 mins until they were feeling quite warm,(or hot) and they then want to get out of the heat. Immediately coming out of the bath they might visit the toilet very quickly, but then we would wrap the naked, sick person in the ice-cold wet sheet before they cooled down. If thoroughly hot, the cold wet sheet is a relief to them. The sheet should not be put on a person who is cold. Plastic cover and then blankets are added over the cold sheet. We have found that children usually nodded off into a heavy sleep soon after getting into the cold sheet and this rest was very good for them. When they woke up they were always feeling much better. However, my now grown sons tell me that they didn't really like the treatment, but they certainly seemed to get well quickly!
