Shingles in the Eye vs the Equine Energiser
Shingles in the Eye
Sometimes we get desperate when the medicine that the doctor prescribes doesn't do what it's meant to do.
It was my birthday in 2009 but what I received was not a nice birthday present! I got shingles in my right eye.
I was very alarmed when I got shingles in my eye and the doctor told me I might go blind, not only in that eye but in the other eye as well. I took all the medicine that my doctor prescribed, but it didn't help me at all. When I finished the tablets and eye-drops, my eye was still swelling up and itchy and sore. Then my friend suggested using the Equine Energiser. I knew this device as i used it to help dogs and horses heal after being hurt or when they had sore muscles. I am very thankful that I didn't go blind.
I took photos of my face showing the progress of shingles from day 6 to day 11. I started using the Equine Energiser around midday of day 8. I hope you can see the difference between the day 8 and the day 9 photo. Both photos were taken in the morning. The photos go from top left horizontally.
I also began taking Vitamin C - sodium ascorbate - in very large doses at that time, so perhaps it was a combination of both the pulser and the Vitamin C that achieved the results as shown in the photos. I was taking smaller doses of Vitamin C prior to using the pulser and it did not impede the progress of shingles. Something dramatic happened to stop the shingles attack on day 9. I believe that logically it had to be the use of the pulser and the Vit C as nothing else changed. The pain decreased, the itchiness decreased and the swelling started to reduce. As the effects of the pulser wore off, the shingles rash would begin to prickle and itch again and my eye would begin to feel raw again until I took more Vitamin C and pulsed again. Immediately after pulsing, the prickly, raw feeling in my eye decreased. So, I kept pulsing with the Equine Energiser on and off throughout the days and taking Vit C because it was the only thing I did that worked. The doctor's medication Valtrex did not seem to have ANY effect other than to give me headaches and nausea.
On day 14, I stopped using the Equine Energiser and the high doses of Vitamin C. On day 16 I still had some itching and soreness in my right eye, so I began to use the machine again. Finally I was able to stop using it and Vit C and retained sight in both my eyes.
I can't say that the Equine Energiser or the Vit C will work for anyone else, or that what i used caused the reversal of my shingles, but it certainly made me feel better and it sure felt like it was helping. I'm not a medically qualified person or a nurse or naturopath. I'm just sharing my experience and what gave me relief from a painful and frightening situation.

1. In 2009, I broke out in shingles on my face and over my right eye. It was very painful and began swelling up and became very itchy. On the third day, I went to see my doctor and he gave me some antibiotics and eye ointment. It concerned me as he said that shingles in one eye might cause blindness not only in that eye, but also in the other eye, so I was very, very concerned! Sadly, my eye grew worse and not better at all, apparently because when we get an outbreak of shingles it has to be diagnosed and antibiotics started before a certain time frame of 3 days. I only started the antibiotics on the evening of the third day as we didn’t realize it was shingles before then. I took all the antibiotics anyway to the end of the course, but they seemed ineffective as the itch, pain and swelling remained the same or actually got a bit worse. It was then that my friend phoned me. She owns a horse stud and when I told her that I had shingles, she suggested I use a machine called the Equine Energiser, that she used on her horses and herself when they have injuries or pain. I had one of these machines, but had never thought of using it on my face, but I was desperate not to lose my eyesight so I used the Equine Energiser on the 8th day.

2. The second photo was taken in the morning of the 9th day. All the swelling was nearly gone by then. I was so relieved when the swelling went away, the itching reduced and so did the pain. I used the Energiser for about 7 minutes every 2 hours. If I didn’t use the machine every two hours, the itches would come back, so I continued using the Energiser and the shingles gradually went away off my face totally after a few more days.
3. The third photo shows my face after using the Enquine Energiser for 8 days – that is 16 days after first breaking out with Shingles.
4. The fourth photo is the Equine Energiser machine that I found worked for my shingles attack when nothing else seemed to be able to stop the virus in my eye.
Other ways we have helped to manage Shingles
Shingles on other parts of the body respond well to certain essential oils, but I could not apply these onto my face or in my eye, but we have used the following when others in our family have suffered shingles on one side of their back and chest and arm. We didn’t all get shingles at the same time, but this is the routine we used to cope with shingles:
· Applied 2 drops H blend (see below) on sores 3 times a day (approx.8 hours apart)
· Started taking L-lysine supplement from chemist/health food store
· Eating a large tub of plain milk yoghurt a day (lysine) (I didn’t do this, but others did)
· Raindrop technique (virus-killing essential oils - Thieves blend, Niaouli, Ravensara - massaged onto our back) as soon as possible
Every alternate day we did this:
· Apply 2 drops Melrose blend 3 times a day instead of shingles blend #1 or #2
· Take L-lysine supplement as directed on bottle
· Eat large tub yoghurt (not me, but others did)
One week after the raindrop, we repeated the raindrop technique – only two treatments were needed altogether.
We continued alternating the shingles blends and the Melrose for 5 days after all signs of the sores were gone.
Shingles blend #1
· 10 drops German chamomile
· 5 drops lavender
· 4 drops sandalwood
· 2 drops geranium
Shingles blend #2
· 10 drops sandalwood
· 5 drops blue cypress
· 4 drops peppermint
· 2 drops ravensara
