Wounds & Pain - (from Infection, Burn, Wound, Splinter, Boil, Inflammation)
For these tissue problems, we apply a potato poultice. Potatoes must be organic and freshly peeled for best results. Potato poultices must be applied cold, grated medium or finely into mush (or mushed up in a blender, but this makes it very runny). Apply and use immediately before it turns black and oxidized.
When a potato poultice is pulling debris out of a wound, the potato will smell quite foul. This is the foul matter that has come out of our body. We have found that the poultice should be changed about every 2 hours in a badly infected wound or the debris and putrid matter will be reabsorbed into the body – at least that is what we have been told. We determine when the poultice needs changing by how badly it smells. If it smells putrid, you waste no time changing it. We’ve noticed amazing relief from pain and inflammation when using potato poultices.
We also use poultices made from packing a wound with crushed up aloe vera. This is good for taking out inflammation and promoting healing.
