Hempseed Rolls & Salad
We use organic ingredients or at least chemical free ingredients.
Ingredients:
2 cups of cracked hempseed
1/2 teaspoonful of Himalayan salt
8 cups of pawpaw (blended)
Equipment:
1. Dehydrator (12 trays)
2. Large sized mixing bowl
3. Medium sized mixing bowl
4. Grease proof paper
5. Measuring cups
6. Serving spoon for stirring
Method:
1. Blend the pawpaw. I use a food processor. Paw paw makes a chewy base.
2. Place pawpaw puree into a mixing bowl.
3. Blend hempseed with some water till creamy mixture..
4, Add hempseed and water mixture to the pawpaw in the mixing bowl.
5. Add salt.
6. Mixture should be sloppy but thick.
11. Prepare sheets for dehydrator trays
12. Place 4 serving spoonfuls of 'batter' onto a baking sheet of paper on the dehydrator tray. Shape the batter so that it is flat and evenly shaped. Repeat for all 12 trays.
13. Place into dehydrator and process for between 7-17 hours. (The time varies depending on the heat settings and how moist the mixture contains).
14. Remove the rolls from greaseproof paper. It should easily pull off. If it sticks, you are either trying to remove it too early or the paper is not greaseproof. If you have used the wrong paper and the rolls can be removed by steaming them over a saucepan of boiling water and if desired, placed into the dehydrator again for a short time.
15. Rolls can be used like falafels and spread with avocado or other soft spreads. I like to put my salad on the flat roll then roll it up and eat it like a falafel (as in the photo above). Or it can be cut into squares and spead through the salad.

Desserts
Use the hempseed-pawpaw rolls recipe to make fruit rollups by adding either blended dates, pureed mango, pawpaw, bananas and berries. We use either a blender with some water added or we use the food processer without adding water to the fruit ice-cream. Some ice-creams can be sprinkled with carob powder, but too much will cause me a headache from the excess tannins.
Hempseed & Pawpaw rolls can be used as ice-cream cones. When the rolls are still soft and not dehydrated too long (which causes them to become too chewy or hard to bend) they can be filled with ice-cream. We make our own ice-cream with frozen bananas, dates and or frozen custard apples. Frozen berries can also be used.
